200 years on, and STILL going strong? Looking forward to a special anniversary with a question…

The first blog in our “100 years on, and still going strong” series commemorating the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science 100 years after her passing was the 100th blog on this site, and having closed that series with the 200th blog mark we want to celebrate today’s anniversary of her birth with a question…

How would we wish to see people increasingly recognise the continued resonance of Mary Baker Eddy’s life and ideas in science, theology, and medicine – and in other aspects of society – between now and the 200th anniversary of her birth…exactly ten years away, on July 16, 2021?

I invite your ideas in the comments section below.

I would love to see increased recognition of spiritual healing as a reality – to have it taken more seriously in its own right. And I hope there will also be more recognition of Mary Baker Eddy herself and her role in the revival of Christian healing. Although there were some other healing movements in other denominations during her time, hers – as far as I’m aware – was the first Christian movement in modern times to be founded with spiritual healing as an essential and integral part of its theology, right from the start.

Perhaps one day, Mary Baker Eddy will be regarded with the respect that Edison, Bell, or Einstein are…..for her discovery and application of scientific Christianity to the field of healing. And, …the fields of finance, transportation, education, human relationships, discovery–

I hope people will come to understand the following:
    1. That Christian Science (CS) isn’t a threat to their beliefs but rather a door to be opened that might expand their beliefs and understanding of Diety.
    2. Exploring Eddy’s ideas doesn’t require an “either/or” approach.
    3. That spiritual healing is natural and normal and not the exception.

Let me know what you think!
